Fly to Vancouver International Airport.

It is very important to book a ferry reservation if you are travelling with a vehicle. These are released 3 months in advance on the BC Ferries website. The ferry route is Tsawwassen ferry terminal to Sturdies Bay (Galiano).

NOTE: You need to be at the ferry terminal at LEAST 40 minutes before your ferry in order for the reservation to be honoured. Don't mess with BC ferries...we have missed our reservation arrival time by a few minutes and been stuck on standby for hours waiting.

If there are no car reservations available, we suggest going by foot. You can either rent a car and park it at the ferry terminal, or jump on the bus. It is much more likely you will be able to walk on without a reservation. If you must have a vehicle but cannot get a reservation, arrive very early for standby.

We suggest renting a car from the Vancouver Airport upon arrival, or the day before heading to the island. The island does not have public transport, so it will be handy for us to have cars for car pooling to/from/around the island.

That being said, Galiano Inn has big vans we will be renting to provide rides to and from this location on the wedding day.
